Sustainability

Strandhotel Balka Søbad tries to be sustainable and environmentally conscious where it is possible. For this we need our guest’s cooperation. 

In the restaurant we try to avoid food waste. Therefore we ask our guests not to take more from the buffet than they can eat, and perhaps go several times.

In the last few years all rooms have been renovated. The window sections have been exchanged to energy glass. On the buildings D & E, solarpanels contribute to the hotels energy consumption, including heating of the water in the swimmingpool.

There are 2 electric car chargers in collaboration with Clever.

For the environments sake we ask guests to consider whether they need changing of towels; towels on the floor means change, otherwise reuse.

We are working on a sorting routine of our garbage. In the last years we have sorted glass and paper. Now we want to start taking out hard and soft plastics and metals as well.

On Balka we are so fortunate to have some of the best groundwater in Denmark, drink the water from the tap, and enjoy! – That way, the use of many plastic bottles can be avoided.
